17th February 2020

British curriculum school, located in Al Barsha South, will offer exclusive 15% discount for FS1 pupils registering for the 2020-2021 academic year

Dubai Heights Academy (DHA), a British curriculum school located in the heart of Al Barsha South, is set to host a Foundation Stage (FS) opening day on Tuesday 25th February, with admissions for the next calendar school year, September 2020 – June 2021, now open.

Parents and children are invited along to meet with the school’s senior leadership team, learn about the curriculum and structure of the school as well as its vision and of course its philosophy – with these elements providing the basis for all pupil’s learning and education.

FS 1 pupils registering during the opening day will receive an exclusive 15% discount for the academic year 2020-2021 plus 10% off FS 2 for 2021-2022 academic year. Meanwhile, new pupils registering for FS 2 will receive a special 10% discount on their annual fees.

The fees are fully inclusive of both academic subjects and extracurricular activities such as sports, technology, music and drama as well as all textbooks and stationaries and the DHA Loyalty Card.

Eisha Mehta, Head of Foundation Stage, Dubai Heights Academy, said: “Walking through our school, potential FS students and their parents can experience the real sense of community and inclusion which is at the core of DHA’s ethos.

“High academic standards depend on an excellent working environment, top international facilities, the best educational resources and, of course, wonderful teachers and faculty – and DHA has all of these stand out elements in abundance.”

The open day, which begins at 9am with the second session starting at 10am, will kick off with some refreshments on arrival before a welcome address from Principal Alison Lamb and a run through of the English National Curriculum taught and the key outcomes and objectives of the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which the school follows.

Parents and children will then be given the opportunity to meet with Foundation Stage Head Eisha Mehta and current FS parents before taking a tour of the separate FS building where there will be several activities taking place, including paly-based learning, class work, arts and sports, amongst others. The morning will conclude with a Q&A session with the registrar where topics including transport, canteen and extra curriculum activities will be covered.

Mehta added: “We believe each child is a unique individual who needs a secure and caring environment to help them grow and mature into independent learners. All teachers are on hand to provide a safe setting, where children feel confident to take risks, share their ideas and be creative.

“Exciting, warm, friendly, organised, fun, creative and natural. These are just a few of the verbs we would use to describe our Foundation Stage building and teaching staff, who encourage children to get messy in the mud kitchen, learn about volume in the waterworks area and develop important lifelong skills whilst taking care of our animals and watering our vegetables in the FS garden.”
