Dubai Heights Academy Selected as 1 of just 6 Schools for the Emirates Literature Foundation's New Initiative

In association with the Emirates Literature Foundation and DP World, Dubai Heights Academy is thrilled to be 1 of just 6 schools in Dubai selected to participate in the new Reading for Pleasure Initiative under a 5 year pilot scheme, which will see us become a centre of reading excellence and a model for other schools in the UAE.

The project aims to foster the love of reading, particularly in young people, through a variety of initiatives such as author visits, monthly book clubs, literary field trips, professional development sessions for staff as well as parent workshops. We are proud to have been chosen to take the lead in this initiative and hope to inspire and empower the younger generation to unlock a passion for lifelong learning through reading.

A massive thank you to Miss. McNee, Mr. McNally and Mrs. Awwad for meeting with the co-partners and setting this up at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library and to our school principal Alison Lamb for finalising the agreements and signing the partnership on behalf of our school. 

DP World have been allocated an annual budget for our school in which they will work with teachers, leaders and parents and transform libraries, classroom environments as well as enhance our already wide selection of books. We hope that you will agree, this is an exciting time ahead for everyone at Dubai Heights Academy.
