Kicking off our Reading for Pleasure Initiative with the Emirates Literature Foundation with a special author visit

Recently, Dubai Heights Academy had the great pleasure of welcoming a special guest, children's author Ebtisam Al-beiti to our school. Through our collaboration with the Emirates Literature Foundation and their innovative 'Reading for Pleasure' initiative, Ebtisam engaged our FS1 - Year 2 students with an exciting reading of her book 'Citrus the Smoothie Sloth.' Her book sheds light on the importance of positive well-being and the significance of healthy eating through the endearing journey of a rainforest sloth named Citrus.
The 'Reading for Pleasure' initiative, in partnership with the Emirates Literature Foundation and DP World, represents a significant step in our journey to promote reading excellence. We are honored to be one of just five schools in Dubai selected to participate in this 5-year pilot scheme. This remarkable opportunity aligns perfectly with our aspiration to become a centre of reading excellence and a guiding model for other schools across the UAE.
Today's event marks another milestone in our dedication to nurturing a passion for reading and learning among our students. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Emirates Literature Foundation and Ebtisam for enriching our educational journey with the magic of literature.
