DHA prepares for new school year with, reduced fees, easy payment plans and free Chromebooks, coupled with COVID-19 health and safety initiatives.
Dubai Heights Academy (DHA), a leading British curriculum school located in the heart of Al Barsha South, has announced a series of revised fees, new payment plans and free access to Chromebooks, for students for the new academic year starting in September 2020.
New students enrolling for the 2020/2021 academic year, which starts in September, will benefit from discounted package deals. For FS1 students a 15% discount will be applied to annual fees, plus a subsequent 10% discount when they enrol for FS2 for the following academic year, starting September 2021.
New -students in FS2 –Years 1-6, will also receive a 10% discount on their annual fees and Year 7 students will be offered a 5% discount on their annual fees. Existing students will benefit from additional discounts on these offers.
A new monthly payment plan has also been introduced for the new academic year. Parents will now be able to spread the cost of tuition across all three terms, meaning essentially that their total annual fees can be paid in equal monthly installments over ten months.
“The easy payment plan applies to all students, whether existing or new. This will ease the financial burden on parents who may find it difficult to pay for each term in advance, especially during these challenging times,” said Alison Lamb, Principal at DHA.
Another initiative that the school is rolling out for the new academic year is free access to Chromebooks for children in Years 3 to 7. In this digital age, it is imperative that students learn to be confident using technology from an early age, even if their parents are not particularly tech savvy. Chromebooks are simple, secure, and shareable, web-based devices, that can be used to create and collaborate.
“Technology has an essential role to play in the development of our curriculum and can offer students an enjoyable and engaging experience, which helps to enhance achievement.
“So, to ensure that our students benefit from this, children in Years 3-7 can use our Chromebooks free of charge and simply return them at the end of the school year, alleviating the cost for parents,” added Miss Lamb.
Virtual tours of the campus, which can be accessed via DHA’s website, allow both parents and children interested in DHA to explore the school and its state-of-the-art facilities. To complement this, physical onsite tours of Dubai Heights Academy have been approved to start again and will give families the option of a more in-depth feel of the campus and its facilities.
“Naturally, safety and well-being will be our top priorities when school does return and we will be putting into place some standard precautions,” said Miss Lamb.
Social distancing, measuring temperatures, carrying out tests especially in FS, increasing nursing staff and wearing masks, will be mandatory.
In addition, a wellbeing support network will be set up in-house so that parents, staff and in certain cases students, can reach out anonymously, should they witness or indeed suffer from any anxiety returning to a busy school environment, after such a long absence.
“As a team have plans in place so that students can safely integrate with each other again and we want to create a sense of familiar routine. Our inclusion team have initiated a wellness character POD so that we can check in on all of our students to make sure they are healthy, relaxed and comfortable,” added Miss Lamb.

Play is an important part of how young children learn and develop. It helps young children to learn and develop their physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills through doing and talking. It has even been suggested that this is the initial stage as to how young children learn to think. Play allows a child to socialise and engage with others, whilst engaging in the learning process.
